Well, long story short, we lived there for a few years right after my daughter was born! My husbands work led us back to Florida where we have been for most of our marriage. But we thought Washington was going to be where we put our roots down. So we purchased our first home!
The day we closed on our house and picked up the keys, my husband got the call they wanted him to relocate to Jacksonville. You know what was weird? Even though we basically only lived in our house for a few months, I had zero worry. I knew that God loved my little family more than I did and He was going to take care of us.
Obviously there was no way we could sell our house right after buying it. So we had to rent it out. We were so lucky to have constantly had renters in that home for the entire 5 years we owned it. Because, to be frank, there was no way we could have afforded paying the mortgage there in WA and here in FL!
It’s bittersweet to be handing this home over to another family. On one hand, the headache and uncertainty of renting is finally off of our shoulders. But on the other, we loved that home. It was our first home purchase and I was so so excited to make it our own (think thousands of pins on pinterest!) I imaged our kids running down the stairs at Christmas, and having our bible study out of the front living room.
But you know how it goes. We couldn’t have imaged the last 5 years of our life any different. I am thankful to be in Florida and experienced amazing things and met amazing people! The selling of our Washington home is a step towards the future we have been planning for our family for 10 years. Here’s to the new owners, and this next amazing chapter in their lives!
