You guys… this is the one you’ve been waiting for right here. The Kincaid House is unique, historic, and truly stunning.
The Kincaid House is less than 30 minutes from Knoxville, how easy is that? My stand-out reason I love this venue is it combines old historic charm all while enjoying the beautiful, great outdoors. Checks basically all of my boxes, when can I move in?!
Q: Tells us a bit about the owners of The Kincaid House.
A: My husband Jim Charles and I are Anderson County natives. Jim grew up next door to The Kincaid House and we both love the historic and picturesque neighborhood. We want to preserve the uniqueness and beauty of the house and property.
Q: Why did you become a wedding venue?
A: We saw the potential in the Anderson County area for a beautiful venue. We had rented the property from the previous owner to host events and saw that others wanted to do the same.
Brides want a special venue to hold special events and we provide that in a beautiful setting for a reasonable price. We realize that a lot of brides can’t afford a $10,000 venue so we try to do what we can to make it a wonderful day on a lesser amount of money.
Q: Where did the name “The Kincaid House” come from?
A: The Kincaid family were the original owners of the 1932 Barber-McMurry custom built home. The Kincaid family owned Magnet Mills in Clinton, which has now been torn down. We thought we should recognize them for the wonderful structure that they created for us to enjoy.
Q: What are your favorite features about The Kincaid House?
A: Definitely all of the stonework, the gazebo and the lush, green garden area. The house has been very well maintained by us and the previous owner and is in almost original condition. We restored a lot of the landscaping and grass areas to make for some beautiful photos.
Q: How would past couples describe their wedding day experience?
A: Most of our couples like the uniqueness of the venue. When their guests arrive they have no idea what a beautiful venue they will find. It’s a hidden gem. And all of the brides love the stone walkways and fountain along with the gazebo.
Q: What is the #1 thing you want couples to know about The Kincaid House?
A: We want to make their day everything they dreamed of. We treat every bride just like she was a family member and want everyone to be happy on that day. We stay in touch with our brides and know when special things happen in their lives.
Q: What are some challenges you’ve overcome with owning a wedding venue?
A: We’ve been so fortunate with the best brides you could ask for. We are in a residential neighborhood so thanks to our fabulous preferred vendors, they know what we expect with noise and the level of the music. That’s probably our biggest challenge but we haven’t had any problems with that. We have a great relationship with the neighbors and get positive feedback from them. We alert them of weddings and times and we respect their homes and keep the noise down.
Q: How far out in the planning process do you suggest couples book?
A: I suggest booking 9-12 months in advance.
Q: What is your favorite season at the The Kincaid House?
A: I really don’t have a favorite season but May and October are my favorite months. Everything is blooming and changing during those months. Of course, we have irrigation so our landscaping and grass stay lush and green all year long.
Q: What is one fun/silly/quirky fact about you or The Kincaid House that most people don’t know?
A: The gazebo was originally planned for playing cards. The men sat upstairs and played poker while the ladies played bridge down below. Originally there was a bathroom inside the gazebo which has now been removed. It’s a great place for couples to go and take a deep breath and spend some time alone after the ceremony.
Dara’s Garden is a beautiful wedding venue located in South Knoxville that can accommodate up to 200 guests. One thing I love about this venue is you have the option to have the venue for 12 full hours (hair and makeup in the bridal suite!) and you are able to set up the decorations the day before!
The Magnolia is an all-time favorite venue located about an hour from Knoxville. One awesome benefit of getting married in Pigeon Forge is there are tons and tons of restaurants and lodging for you and your guests. This outdoor Knoxville wedding venue can accommodate 100 guests.
The Trillium Wedding Venue is located in Sevierville, approximately 40 minutes from Knoxville. This stunning venue gives you full access (and views to match!) of those beautiful Smokies we all know and love. This is a bonus listing because it isn’t open yet! But, contact them to book because they are taking bookings for Fall 2021!
Hiring a professional wedding photographer you absolutely love and click with is such an important step to make sure that you can capture all the amazing moments you will have at your wedding. These photographs will act as a ticket for traveling back in time and having a look at all the beautiful memories you created with your loved ones.
I have been working as a professional photographer for over 8 years. Throughout that time I realized that the intimate moments in between the poses were the ones most cherished. My wedding work has been seen in places like The Knot, Wedding Wire, The Carolinas Magazine, Embrace Beauty Magazine, and many other leading industry publications. I’m sincerely grateful for every single one of them, and for the others yet to come. But none of that matters without the experience, the fun, and the results that everyone feels when they look back through their photographs. If you think we’d make an amazing fit contact me today and let’s chat about your wedding!
